SMALL BUSINESS TAX CREDITS—Offers tax credits to small businesses to make employee coverage more affordable. Tax credits of up to 35 percent of premiums will be immediately available. Effective beginning for calendar year 2010. (Beginning in 2014, small business tax credits will cover 50 percent of premiums.)

Berkley Cheers House Passage of Latest Unemployment Extension |
(March 17, 2010) Congresswoman Shelley Berkley cheered swift House passage of a new legislative package that temporarily extends unemployment benefits and COBRA subsidies to help Nevada families maintain their healthcare coverage. The bill must still be approved by the Senate, but could be stalled by those seeking to block passage, as happened recently with Senator Jim Bunning.
